PLATTEVILLE — The brother of the Platteville landlord who owes the city more than $300,000 in fines has been making his own appearances in the Grant County court system.

Larry D. Kallembach, 54, 1536 County B, Platteville, was fined $1,625.76 after he was arrested three times in four weeks on trespassing and disorderly conduct charges.

Kallembach was arrested April 18 and April 25 on trespassing and disorderly conduct citations, and arrested May 9 on a trespassing citation. Police Chief Doug McKinley said Kallembach entered apartments that were occupied by tenants, which is illegal without proper advance notice.

He pleaded no contest to the April 25 charges, and was found guilty in a trial on the other charges July 23.

Kallembach faces an additional seven traffic charges, for which he has pleaded not guilty.

Kallembach was ticketed in for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance, and operating while suspended in Cuba City May 22. He was ticketed by Grant County sheriff’s deputies for nonregistration of an auto May 27. He was ticketed for fourth-offense operating after suspension in Platteville June 12, June 20 and June 27.

Court trials are set for Aug. 31 on one Cuba City citation and one Platteville citation, and Sept. 12 for the other two Platteville citations, the other two Cuba City citations and the Grant County citation.

Kallembach is the brother of Darrel Kallembach, who has been in the Grant County Jail since late June for contempt of court for violating a judge’s order. Darrel Kallembach owes the city $309,804 in fines for ordinance violations for 21 properties he owns in the city.
