A Dubuque man's plan to steal tires and rims from a Louisburg Garage parking lot was halted after the Grant County Sheriff's Department received a tip.
On Aug. 30 at approximately 11 p.m., the Sheriff's office received a tip from an individual that Joseph Kane, 21, Dubuque was planning on stealing tires and rims from a truck parked in the Louisburg Garage parking lot.
Deputies Andrew Smith and Duane Jacobson responded and set up surveillance on the area. Approximately two hours later, the deputies noticed a truck driving in the parking lot and then shut its lights off. A short time later, Kane exited his truck and began to remove the tires from a 2008 Dodge Dakota. The deputies approached Kane and took him into custody without incident.
Kane was transported to the Grant County Jail where he was able to post a $500 bond. Kane was charged with theft of motor vehicle parts. Guy's Towing, Kieler assisted at the scene.
