Two suspects identified in recent area robberies

    On Wednesday, July 8, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office sent out a press release concerning a number of burglaries that took place in Lafayette County beginning on July 1. These burglaries were primarily committed at business establishments as well as residential properties in the eastern portion of Lafayette County.
    On Saturday, July 11, at 10:08 p.m., an Argyle Police Department Officer located a suspicious vehicle parked in the ditch in the 4000 block of STH 81, in Argyle Township.
    At 10:17 p.m., the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a nearby resident who returned home and interrupted a burglary to his residence. The homeowner reported the suspect(s) had fled the residence on foot.
    Deputies from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the Argyle Police Department Officer and  K-9 units from the Green County Sheriff’s Office and Darlington Police Department all responded to the residence.
    At 10:48 p.m., Patrick J. Allen, 22, of Argyle, was taken into custody after being located in a nearby cornfield by the Darlington Police Department K-9 unit.
    Patrick Allen is a suspect in several of the other burglaries that occurred in Lafayette County.
    A second suspect, Cody A. Young, 22, also of Argyle, was taken into custody in the city of Monroe on July 14, on another matter.
    The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office noted that this investigation remains on-going, and that more information may be released as it presents itself.
