Moms (and dads) night out
MNO 3

On Oct. 22, mothers and some fathers were treated to a night out of sorts. The night wasn’t what most picture when we think of a night out, but it was just as important. Moms Night Out, held at Platteville Middle School and other schools, spotlighted STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education. Kristina Fields, a civil cngineer and associate professor of civil engineering at UW-Platteville, was the keynote speaker. Participants had the opportunity to engage in problem-solving activities, control systems programming and biomedical tests, including Julie Walters and Nicki Statz measuring their heart rates.
