The Platteville School District had the 33rd highest grade in the state in the state Department of Public Instruction school district report cards, released Tuesday morning.

Platteville had a district score of 77.7, rated as “Exceeds Expectations.” Only the Highland School District, which scored 81, and the River Valley School District, which scored 78, scored higher in Southwest Wisconsin.

Three other area school districts scored in the “Meets Expectations” category — Iowa–Grant, 72.2; Belmont, 71.2; and Potosi, 67.2.

The Platteville Journal will have more on this story next week.
