AARP driver safety course for drivers older than 50 starts Jan. 23

Anyone 50 and older interested in refreshing driving knowledge can take an older-driver training course offered through AARP and sponsored by the Aging & Disability Resource Center — Grant County.

The training will be held at the ADRC office, 8820 Highway 35/61 South, Lancaster, Thursday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will review physical limitations, dealing with normal driving situations and hazards, driving safely, maintaining a safe vehicle, the effects of alcohol and medication, and making important driving decisions.

Some insurance companies offer discounts upon completion of this course; contact your insurance agent for more information.

Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. The fee includes a handbook, resources, and refreshments. Class size is limited to 15 people. Register by Jan. 21 by calling Rita at the ADRC, 723-6113 or 1-800-514-0066.
