Boscobel 2023 Bike Rodeo

BOSCOBEL - Back by popular demand, Boscobel Public Library and Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics have teamed up for the third-annual Boscobel Bike Rodeo on Saturday, May 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital Bluff Street parking lot behind Furniture, Décor & More.

Attendees age three and up can visit different safety stations including bike safety checks, bike helmet fittings, traffic safety tips from local law enforcement, and an interactive road course.

Participants can test their knowledge by spinning the wheel and answering bike safety trivia questions for fun prizes. All attendees can enter to win a bike, courtesy of Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics. The library will also be giving away bike helmets, while supplies last.

New this year, the Grant County Health Department will be onsite to provide drive-thru car seat safety checks. If you›re interested in having your car seat checked or to confirm proper installation, call Janelle Miller at the Boscobel Library at (608) 375-5723 to reserve a time. Same-day drive-ups will be accepted, but RSVPs are appreciated to ensure ample supplies.

Grant County’s needs-based car seat program provides new car seats to qualifying families. New seats are often issued to any child if a car seat is found to be damaged, recalled or outgrown. Late-term pregnant women also qualify if they do not have a car seat for the baby’s arrival. Meeting with the family and a vehicle is required for car seat issuance in order to provide education on installation and harnessing the child, as well as to discuss the minimum Wisconsin law requirements and safest practice.

Stop by anytime between 9 and 11 a.m. for a dose of bike safety and fun to help prepare your kids for warmer temps and increased (safe) riding!
