Avoca ready to welcome music fans
AVCC18
The main music tent awaits a crowd Friday and Saturday, as the village hosts it's annual music festival, Country at the Crossroads.

Folks in Avoca are ready to welcome music fans and a wide assortment of activities for, “A weekend of fun for the whole family.” The annual Country at the Crossroads begins Friday evening and continues throughout Sunday afternoon.

Also welcoming people to Avoca is a pair of new signs at the Highway 133 entrances to the village. The signs are a representation of the cooperative spirit that exists in the community. The bricks, concrete and labor were donated by local craftsmen.

On stage events during the weekend include music by six area bands as well as a performance by the Betty Hayes Dancers.

Among the event offerings are food and refreshment stands, youth baseball, Thunder Showers Bounce Houses, kickball tournament, canoe races, car show, a luminary light walk/run Saturday evening plus fireworks.

A Sunday morning ecumenical church service at the park shelter will be followed by a chicken barbecue and youth baseball.
