The ‘Gift of Art Holiday Show’ will be open for exhibition and sales from Friday, Nov. 15 through Sunday, Jan.12 at the Gays Mills Arts Collective Gallery in the Mercantile Center.
The opening reception will be Friday, Nov. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. The gallery's winter hours are Friday 2 to 5 p.m, Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For this show, the artists are including a wide range of objects and paintings to provide gifts of art that are affordable.
Exhibiting for the first time in the gallery are new members Dan Nedrelo, a wildlife and nature photographer, and Kay Campbell, whose pottery shop in Ferryville is now closed for the season.
In addition, the following artist members are also showing their work in the holiday show: Jeff Adams, Ken Anderson, Sandra Berger, Alvin Felch, Rick Krieble, Christine Myhr, Luke Russell, Joe, Schwarte and Kathy Shepherd. Each artist may bring in additional pieces through the course of the show to keep it changing and dynamic.
"To receive a gift that is a handmade piece of art makes one feel special, and to give a gift of art has a special warmth," said Lila Marmel, the gallery administrator. "Hopefully, many will experience that unique warmth because of this show at the gallery. The pieces are in place for a beautiful holiday season at the Mercantile Center in Gays Mills."
