Darlington
Elementary/Middle School
Darlington Elementary/Middle School will be hosting a short Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 10 at 8:30 a.m. in the school gym. Grades kindergarten through 8th will give performances.
High School
Darlington High School will be hosting a Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the high school gymnasium. American Legion Past National Vice Commander and Darlington Post Commander Dave Gough will be the emcee for the Program. Mayor Dave Breunig will give a welcome from the City and UMC Pastor Angie Utter will give the opening and closing prayers. Past Commander of the State of Wisconsin American Legion Daniel Seehafer will be the guest speaker. Band Director Kim Haynes will have the Chorus and Band do several numbers.  Please try and take time out of your schedules to come and enjoy a program dedicated to the Veterans of America.
Black Hawk
Black Hawk schools will be honoring local veterans for their service on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2016, with a student led musical tribute and poetic readings.  Black Hawk Schools do not have school in session on Friday, Nov. 10, hence the scheduling of our program on Nov. 9.  The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be held in the Black Hawk gymnasium.  Coffee and muffins will be served to local veterans starting at 8:30 a.m. in the lower commons.
Belmont
Belmont School District will be having a program at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 in the high school gym.  The program will include songs by the high school band and choir. The guest speaker will be Bill Longmore, US Army Specialist.  
Shullsburg
Shullsburg Schools will host a Veterans Day observation on Friday, Nov. 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the old gym. There will be performances by the junior high and high school bands and choirs. The VFW Post 10533 & American Legion Post 105 will post and retire the colors and give the gun salute. Riley Swenson, Kiera Sandlin and Megan Greenfield will play taps. Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen Awards will be given.
