Two upcoming events will assist the Platteville Food Pantry at the Lutheran Church of Peace on Water Street in Platteville.

The sixth annual Soup Supper will be held Saturday, Nov. 3 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The menu will feature a bottomless bowl of soup chosen from a variety of soups, crackers, cornbread, desserts, beverages and music.

The cost will be $5 for adults and $2 for children 6 to 12; children to age 5 are free. Donations of non-perishable food items will be welcome.

The second event is the annual Scouting for Food conducted by the Platteville Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and the Girl Scouts of the Wisconsin Badger Land Council active in Platteville.

On Saturday, Nov. 3, Scouts accompanied by their parents and leaders will distribute flyers door to door in Platteville asking people to leave a bag of non-perishable items outside their house door.

The donations will be picked up Saturday, Nov. 10 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. These items will then be sorted and stored in the Platteville Food Pantry.

Anyone whose residence is missed may call 348-7403 for more information on pickup of items.
