The Richland Hospital Foundation will present the third annual “Taste of the Hills” event on Saturday, June 17, at Krouskop Park. The event will take place from 4:00-9:00 p.m.

According to Foundation Director Norbert Calnin, “The event is centered around two objectives: to sincerely thank our generous annual donors, and to celebrate the availability of great local health care provided by The Richland Hospital.”

This year will again see the return of The Larry Busch Big Band, which is known for playing a variety of music from the “big band” era. Everyone is invited to dance the night away.

“We hope attendance to this event continues to grow each year,” says Calnin. “It is a fun-filled event showcasing local foods prepared by local and regional restaurants and gourmet cooks. The Richland Hospital has touched so many lives in our community. This is a great way to acknowledge how fortunate we are to have a continued number of vital services available to us right here where we live. We want to see the whole community participate.”

This year “Taste of the Hills” will introduce yet another grouping of artistic creations. On display and available for purchase by silent auction will be 10 hand-crafted lamps, which all have something in common. They all have incorporated the use of books in their construction.   p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; text-indent: 9.0px; line-height: 11.0px; font: 10.0px Times}

According to Artist Committee Chairperson Carolyn Dray, “We are seeing some amazing creativity by our local artists to incorporate books as part of the lamp design. Not only are they creating amazing art, but also a functional piece of décor to be added to the buyer’s home. We’re very exited!”
