The excitement is building as Vernon Memorial Healthcare  (VMH) prepares to open the doors to the new La Farge Medical Clinic building.

The public, as well as the media, is invited to help Vernon Memorial Healthcare celebrate this big change in the way that care is provided at the La Farge Medical Clinic. All events will be held at the new clinic site, located at 206 N. Mill Street in La Farge.

A ribbon cutting event will be held on Monday, June 29 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. to commemorate the opening of the new clinic. The event will include short presentations from Vernon Memorial Healthcare CEO Kyle Bakkum, VMH Board President Dr. Robert Knadle, and Dr. James DeLine of the La Farge Medical Clinic.

The public is also invited to an Open House event on Saturday, July 4 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Guided tours will be available to those who would like to take a look around the new facility.

Among the expanded and enhanced services that will be offered at the La Farge Clinic will be a new genetic testing program.

The Center for Special Children will offer affordable healthcare to those who have rare genetic and metabolic disorders. The hope is to help those families affected by complex medical needs with low-cost care, while also building an expansive catalog of diseases that will improve diagnosis and treatment in the future.

Sponsored landscaping at the new La Farge Medical Clinic site is available if you would like to make a donation in memory, or in honor, of a loved one.

Contact La Farge Clinic Coordinator Greg Lawton at (608) 625-2494 to donate or for more information regarding the landscaping project.
