WGLR (97.7 FM) will hold its 20th  annual Holiday Auction at Tim Slack Auction and Reality on U.S. 61 between Lancaster and Fennimore Saturday, Dec. 1.

This year, WGLR is partnering with the Grant County Cancer Coalition in raising funds. Additional funds will be provided to the Bob Middendorf Family and the Tom Greenwood Family. Middendorf, WGLR’s farm director, was treated for throat cancer earlier this year. Greenwood, an account representative for WGLR, died of a heart attack this summer.

WGLR will broadcast the auction from 8:15 a.m. until noon, and will sell approximately 40 items. At 12:30 p.m., Tim Slack will then sell the remaining items live and WGLR will continue to take phone bids throughout the afternoon.

A partial listing of items can be found on page 14B of this week’s Platteville Journal and in the Reminder shopper.

Previous profits donated to various charities include $5,000 to Bagley flood victims, local food pantries, EarthAngel, Southwest Opportunities Center, Southwest Wisconsin Regional Rescue Team to purchase ice rescue equipment and many, many families in need from throughout the immediate area.

Queen B is looking for donations of items to be auctioned off throughout the day and individuals and businesses can participate by contacting Denise Deaton-Tolzman, 642-0523, Shirley Hoffman, 349-2016, or Rick Sanson, 330-0708.

Applications are available at WGLR.com if you know of a family that is in need.
