Stewart Fundraiser

Family in Faith Church on County Road Q in Fennimore held a “Steak Sandwich Drive Thru Meal” fund raiser on Wednesday, Sept. 30, with the proceeds going toward the family of Elizabeth Stewart.

Elizabeth, who would have been a senior this year at Fennimore High School, passed away unexpectedly as the result of a motorcycle accident in Boise, Idaho, this past August.

Her obituary stated she was actively involved in band, FBLA, and forensics. She was also involved in her church and enjoyed being part of many activities and community events.

Outside of school, Elizabeth loved spending time with her family, especially riding motorcycles with her father. She had a love for adventure and looked forward to traveling out west, especially to Idaho and Alaska, where she could visit family and explore the mountains.

Family in Faith Church put on the drive thru fund raiser for Elizabeth’s parents, Dan and Teri Stewart, to help financially with medical and other incurred expenses.

Renee Thomas, Pastor at Family In Faith Church stated, “We are definitely a close community that pulls together for one another, especially in a time of need. We sold 527 meals and the family will be receiving over $6,000 to assist the family with medical expenses. Thank you everyone that supported, helped, donated in any way and purchased meals. Thank you one and all....YOU made it possible.”

Additionally, The Pit Crew held a fund raiser on Aug. 19, will all proceeds and tips going toward the Stewarts, raising $3,206.88 from donations and the proceeds.

BD’s Eagles Nest Bar and Grill held a “Stuff The Bucket” fund raiser in August to also assist the Stewarts, as well as patrons signing and giving donations in a card to the family.
