Boscobel School Board has two new members in close race

The Boscobel School Board will see two new faces at its April 18 meeting following Tuesday’s election, which saw an 18 percent voter turnout in the city, with 394 people casting their ballots.

Wendi Stitzer ran unopposed in Area 1, receiving 725 votes. She will replace incumbent Barb Puckett, who chose not to run. Area 1 representatives Chuck Owens and Jacob Knowles were not up for reelection.

In Area 2, incumbent Todd Miller won a close race over challenger Cherry Knowles, 417 to 415.

In Area 3, incumbent Jason Pickett was defeated by challenger Kim Trumm, 496 to 320. All results are unofficial.

City Council members Gary Kjos, Steve Fritz, Brenda Kalish and Nancy Sanger ran unopposed.

State Superintendent of Schools Tony Evers easily defeated challenger Lowell Holtz with 70 percent of the vote statewide. In Boscobel, Evers received 304 votes to Holtz’s 68.
