Brooks votes against EPA woodstove regulations

Nearly 40 bills passed the Wisconsin Assembly June 9, and State Rep. Ed Brooks (R-Reedsburg) voted in favor of bill AB 25, which he said will combat attempts by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to further regulate wood burning stoves.

“The EPA’s new regulations would hurt small manufacturers of wood stoves, and could very well drive up the costs for consumers,” Brooks, whose district includes Greenwood township, said in a press release. “We in rural Wisconsin don’t need more bureaucratic interference in our lives, especially when that interference discourages the use of a plentiful renewable resource.”

The bill passed the Assembly, 63-35.
