Riverway board received Highway project update
DNR reorganization shifting wildlife focus

With warmer weather, the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway is on the road as they meet throughout the Riverway region for the summer. They met in Boscobel last Thursday at the city hall conference room, with a pair of presentations on the agenda – one addressing planning developments for the Highway 60 project between Muscoda and Gotham slated for 2021; the other a presentation from Dan Goltz, DNR wildlife biologist, on wildlife management in the Riverway.

Tom Oldenburg, WisDOT Project Leader for the Hwy. 60 project, offered a CAD visual tour of the reconstruction project that begins at the intersection of Hwys.  60/80 near Muscoda and extends easterly to the intersection of Hwy. 60 and U.S. Hwy. 14 in Gotham. The work consists of pavement replacement and shoulder widening to 4’ throughout, with an additional 2’ of gravel shoulder wherever possible. Also included are curb and gutter installation on the section through Gotham.
