Rountree Branch trail meeting Tuesday
PublicMeetingOverallExhibit 5-19-15

The public is invited to attend an informational meeting for the upcoming construction of the Recreational Trail in Platteville, from Chestnut Street to the north of Keystone Parkway.

The meeting will be held in the Municipal Building council chambers, 75 N. Bonson St., Tuesday, May 19 from 5 to 7 p.m., with a presentation on the project at 5:30 p.m.

Outside of the presentation, the meeting will follow an informal open house format with exhibits about the project available for review.  Representatives from the City of Platteville, Platteville Community Arboretum, and engineering consultants, IIW, P.C. and Delta 3, will be available to discuss the proposed project and address any questions or concerns.

The Moving Platteville Outdoors project has obtained more than $600,000 in grant funding from the state Department of Natural Resources. The proposed improvement project will include paving and widening the trail to the extent feasible (typically a minimum of 8 feet) with an effort to meet Americans with Disabilitis Act criteria as much as possible. The project will also include lighting at some locations within the available budget. One trail bridge will be replaced or relocated. The construction is anticipated to begin in 2015 and continue into 2016.
