UN flag raising
Daisy Troop 5404 members attending were Hailey Dreckman, Daphne Dreckman, Kylie Price, Kinley Price. Brownie Troop 5027 was represented by Addison Schneider, Isabel Pennekamp,Caitlynn Banfield, Amelia Whitney, Maria Johnson, Anna Pennekamp, Chloe Shaffer, Hannah Tredinnick and Maddie Jaquinot. Cadet Troop 5337 attendees were Emma Pennekamp and Cassidy Whitney. The girls, parents and leaders were joined by coordinator Maggie Kleisath, and Judy Pearce, Product Sales Manager for Badgerland Girl Scouts.

 

The light blue flag of the United Nations is flying over the City of Platteville for the 43rd year to recognize United Nations Month. Fifteen girls involved in Badgerland Scouts watched as police officers Devin Malott and Nate Auz raised the United Nations flag at the Municipal Building the morning of Oct. 1. Maggie Kleisath led the ceremony explaining the purpose of the United Nations. which is to provide a forum for peaceful solutions to world problems. The girls named the countries of the flags they held.
