A meeting at UW–Platteville March 3 will examine the need for a center in Platteville where people can get help resolving conflicts between friends, family, co-workers, and others dealing with differences that may be difficult to discuss or resolve.

All who are interested in this possibility are welcome to attend the meeting in the large conference room in the Criminal Justce Department at 1136 Ullsvik Hall Thursday, March 3 at 3 p.m.

The center may also work to prevent violence, and provide healing when it does occur. Education and restorative justice programming will help people to develop the skills and empathy that support the resolution of conflict and prevention of violence.

The meeting will include speakers what they see as the need for this type of center, and what would be needed to get it started. The group may decide to continue having regular meetings to work on developing this resource for the community.
