Public’s help requested in locating renegade goat
Rush Creek State Natural Area
Molly the Renegade Goat
Molly, a former employee of Driftless Goats 4 Hire out of Lansing, Iowa, fled a grazing project last summer in Ferryville. Believing she had perished as the meal of a predator, we were pleasantly surprised when the DNR informed us she had been sighted on a bluff in Rush Creek State Natural Area.

RUSH CREEK - Molly, a former employee of Driftless Goats 4 Hire out of Lansing, Iowa, fled a grazing project last summer in Ferryville. She refused all offers of capture by well-meaning residents, and took to the hills in the fall. Believing she had perished as the meal of a predator, we were pleasantly surprised when the DNR informed us she had been sighted on a bluff in Rush Creek State Natural Area.

Wardens and biologists with the DNR stated they will continue to monitor her whereabouts as they work projects in the area.

She will need a lot of coaxing to be brought back, so if anyone does manage to catch a glimpse of this skittish loner, please contact Crisse Reynolds, Animal Control Officer for the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, at 608-306-6253, so she can work with the DNR to safely bring her home.
