Platteville police are investigating a burglary at A&W Restaurant on East Business 151 that was reported Monday morning.

According to police, someone entered the building through a rear access door near the drive-thru and took a 2-square-foot metal safe that contained about $900 in change. The burglary was reported Monday around 7:35 a.m.

Anyone who sees a safe matching that description, sees materials consistent with large amounts of change such as coin trays or paper coin sleeves, or sees someone bring in large amounts of change to convert to cash, is asked to contact police, 348-2313.
