PRAIRIE DU CHIEN - Santa has been so busy planning for the upcoming holiday season that he has been caught napping on the job! Rivers and Bluffs Animal Shelter invites all children to wake up Santa on Saturday, Dec. 2 in the Community Room of City Hall at 214 E. Blackhawk Ave. in Prairie du Chien.
We will wake Santa promptly at 8:30 a.m. Kids are welcome to bring noisemakers to get the job done. Doors will open at 8 a.m. Children will wait quietly behind the closed doors of the Community Room until the countdown at 8:30 a.m. A pancake and sausage breakfast follows and will be served until 10 a.m.
Admission includes an all you can eat breakfast, a “personalized” visit with Santa, Santa games including Santa Bingo, Pin the Nose on Rudolph and Santa Says. Children can also “make and take” an ornament for their Christmas tree in Santa’s Workshop. Tristan the Magician will entertain the children as they wait their turn to visit with Santa. Children three and under are free.
Children are delighted as Santa finds their name in his special ‘Good Girls and Boys Book’ and seems to know if they have been “naughty or nice”.
Santa’s Secret Gift Shop will be open during the event for children to purchase reasonably priced gifts for family members, caregivers, and pets. Santa’s elves will help with gift selection and wrapping. No adults allowed!
Brian Cipra Photography will be on hand to capture this special moment in the child’s life. A 5x7 photograph will be available for purchase and ready for pickup on December 16 at Tractor Supply.

Registration forms can be picked up at Tender Care Animal Hospital, Paper Moon Books & Beyond, as well as the following area elementary schools – St. Gabriels, Bluffview, B. A. Kennedy, River Ridge, Seneca, Wauzeka-Steuben and Mar-Mac. Registration forms are also available online at www.riversandbluffsanimalshelter.org. Advance registration is strongly recommended as space is limited. Mail in registrations and payment must be received no later than Wednesday, November 29th and should be mailed to RABAS PO Box 421 PdC, WI 53821.
