The Platteville Community Arboretum has received more than $2,500 from local residents — 10 percent of the $25,000 Challenge Match put up by the Cindy Tang Charitable Trust.

The final door hangers will be distributed this week for the campaign, which is in collaboration with the City of Platteville, Platteville Community Fund, Building Platteville, and the UW–Platteville Foundation.

Donations will help pave and light the Rountree Branch Trail. Contributions of any amount can be mailed to the Platteville Community Arboretum, P.O. Box 302, Platteville, WI  53818.  Contributions are also being received online at plattevillearboretum.org/MPO. The PCA is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, making contributions tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

To date the MPO collaborative team has raised just more than $500,000 with approximately $127,000 more in donations and pledges needed to match the $642,692 state Department of Natural Resources grant.
