On Saturday, March 10 the Driver Opera House Center for the Arts took a giant step forward with the unveiling of the main floor restoration of the 135 year old building.
Havens said, “This is so exciting, to share this historic moment with you. All of you are making this possible. This is ten years in the making, it’s like we have been in rehearsal for ten years and finally it’s show time. We are ready to showcase the lower level and we are ready to begin the new campaign to restore the upper level. Thank you for helping us do that.”
Driver President Stan Krahenbuhl spoke, “I’d like to thank Laura Jenkins who had a vision of what this could be. We now own the building and have acquired the hotel behind it.” Krahenbuhl also thanked Benton Bank, Bert & Linda Stitt, Dale Klemme, Daniels Construction and Architect Amy Hasselman of Kontext Architects.
Entertainment was provide by Just Jake and refreshments were served.
