Calvin R. Hughes, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014.  Cal was born on March 10, 1944, in Madison, to parents Elvin and Elizabeth (Boyle) Hughes.  He was raised on a farm in rural Darlington; attending Johnny Cake, a one-room schoolhouse and graduating from Darlington High School in 1962. 

A funeral service with full military honors was held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014.  A visitation was held at the funeral home, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.  Private inurnment will be at a later date.
