Celia H. Benson, age 103 of Darlington, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born July 12, 1914 in Fayette Township, the daughter of Wesley John and Mabel (Anderson) Reed. Celia attended Cline School in Lamont Township and later Girls Tech in Milwaukee. She lived in Chicago, Ill. where she worked in numerous department stores and also as a nanny. She returned to Darlington where she worked for numerous people as a housemaid and later worked for Mulldoons Bakery in Darlington for several years. She lived at home for several years to help take care of her siblings. She was united in marriage to Cecil Laverne Benson on December 31, 1948 in Blanchardville. After her marriage to Cecil, they moved to Wiota.
Celia is survived by one son: Greg Benson of Wiota; one sister-in-law: Carol Saunders Benson, of South Wayne; three nieces; one nephew; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Lester, Marvin, and Bob Reed; one sister: Cora Reed; two sisters-in-law: Edna Reed, and Marguerite Reed.          
Celia was a member of the Apple Grove Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She liked to sew, crochet, garden and bake bread. Celia cherished the time she spent with her family and friends, creating memories that they will remember forever.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Apple Grove Lutheran Church (14501 Apple Grove Church Rd. Argyle, WI) where Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiated. Burial was in Apple Grove Church Cemetery. A visitation was held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service at the Apple Grove Lutheran Church.
