Charles R. “Chuck” Clayton, age 95, of Darlington, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Mineral Point. He was born Sept. 22, 1919 in Mineral Point, the son of Raymond and Bertha (Golliner) Clayton.

A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 339 East Louisa Street in Darlington with Rev. Dr. Connie J. Peake officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington with military graveside rites accorded by Bates-O’Brien-Howe-Wiegel-Roelli American Legion Post #214 of Darlington. A visitation was held Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Jude Hospice in Platteville and Sienna Crest in Dodgeville and Mineral Point. For those who prefer, a memorial fund has been established in Chuck’s name.
