McWilliams Darlene

Darlene J. McWilliams, age 70, of Janesville died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017. She was born in Janesville on Dec. 22, 1946, the daughter of the late Kenneth and M. Arlene (Badertscher) Jensen. Darlene graduated from high school and married Robert Eicher, who predeceased her. She later married John J. “J.J.” McWilliams in Janesville on July 14, 1979 and he predeceased her on July 22, 2005. Darlene was a member of the First Congregational Church in Janesville.
In her earlier years, Darlene worked at Parker Pen and later in her life, she fulfilled her desire to continue her education and became a Spanish teacher. Darlene taught in the Janesville School District and retired from the Evansville School District. She enjoyed reading, theater, and spending time with her former Parker Pen co-workers at their monthly luncheons. She was also active with Friends of Noah.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law: Mary Jensen of Janesville, and Kate Kelley of Shullsburg; sisters and brothers in law: Dolores and Louis Nack of Galena, Ill. and Dennis and Sutti McWilliams of Seattle, Wash.; several nieces, nephews and close friends. In addition to her two husbands and parents, Darlene was predeceased by her sister Judith Jensen and two brothers, Gerald and Ronald.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 at the Whitcomb – Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Tanya Sadagopan officiating. Burial was next to her husband J.J., at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Seymour Township, rural Shullsburg. Visitation was on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Those who wish to honor Darlene are encouraged to make a donation in her name to the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin.
