Dennis R. Unbehaun, age 63 of Darlington, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. He was born Feb. 22, 1954 in Reedsburg, the son of Frances and Ella (Fry) Unbehaun. Dennis attended grade school in Cassville and later went on to graduate from Cuba City High School in 1972. Following his graduation from high school, Dennis joined the United States Air Force. While stationed at McCord Air Force Base at Tacoma, Wash., he was united in marriage to Ruth A. Lowery on Nov. 5, 1977 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green. After retiring from the Air Force, Dennis returned to Cuba City, finally settling in Darlington where he has resided since.
Dennis is survived by his wife Ruth at home; one daughter: Nicole (Shawn) Henning of Janesville; three brothers: Leroy (Linda) Unbehaun of Lime Ridge, Robert (Debbie) Unbehaun and Steven (Chris) Unbehaun both of Shullsburg; five sisters: Jean Horkan of Lime Ridge, Carol (Don) Brown of Lanark, Ill., Joan (Richard) Peck of Pickerington, Ohio, Sharon (Del) Tranel and Mary (Frank) Blahnik both of Cuba City; three sisters-in-law: Mary Jo Craugh and Kim Lowery both of Platteville and Linda Brandt of Prairie du Chien; two loyal dogs and best friends: Angel and Allie; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Jerry Unbehaun; and a beloved dog: Boo.
Dennis served in the United States Air Force for 16 years. He loved to work on computers, and had many talents when it came to wood working. You could find him tending to his lawn, garden, and flowerbeds during the warmer months. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. Dennis will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
