Helen Catherine Olmstead, 67 of Jacksonville N.C., passed away at her home early on Sunday morning March 16, 2014. Helen moved from Monroe to Jacksonville, N.C. in 1985 with her daughters to live near her son who was stationed at Camp Lejuene.

A visitation took place at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville, N.C. on Monday, March 24 at noon. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Monday following the visitation also at Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Burden officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post 9133 Ladies Auxiliary and to Sarah’s Refuge Inc. in Helen’s name.
