Jacqueline (Jackie Bates) Ruf died quietly at home on Aug. 5, 2026, in the company of her family, moments before a peaceful rain.

A memorial service is planned for Oct. 24, 2026, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington, followed by a commemorative celebration at the Driver Opera House — the kind of party Jackie would love to attend. There will be dancing!
