Jan William Einfeldt passed away unexpectedly Jan. 1, 2014 in his home in Madison, Wis.

He was born March 9, 1937 to Frank A. and Mary (Mutch) Einfeldt in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  He moved with his parents and sister, Patricia, to the Hillsboro area to farm in April 1950.

Jan graduated with honors from Western Wisconsin Technical College in May of 1984 with a degree in Applied Sciences. 

He worked in Prescott and Sparta before moving to Madison to work and be near his sister.

Jan loved reading, hunting, shooting and fishing.  He spent many hours reloading shells.  He was very well read.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia, and first cousin Jessie Wick McManus.  He was survived by first cousin, Alicia Ruth McClure of Hopkins, MN, who also died in January.

He is survived by four first cousins, Enid Mellen of Richland Center, WI, Rosemarie Carthew of Elizabethtown, PA,  Charles Nelson of Albion, MI and Alicia Nelson of Gainsville, FL.

Graveside services will be held at the Millard’s Prairie Cemetery on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 4 p.m.  The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family with arrangements.  For online information go to www.pichafuneralhomes.com
