Jessie E. Nemec, age 92 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at Milestone Senior Care Center in Hillsboro, Wisconsin.

She was born on Jan. 7, 1923 to Harold and Etta May (Eastman) Pepper in the Town of Forest, Vernon County, Wisconsin.  Jessie was united in marriage to Otto R. Nemec on Nov. 18, 1941 in Hillsboro.

They farmed for 47 years in the Town of Forest and upon retiring in 1988, moved into Hillsboro.  She also worked in the Hillsboro School kitchen, at MECCA and at Hansen’s Department Store.  She was an active member of the Burr Wesleyan Church and their missionary society.  Otto preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1994.

Survivors include her son, Harold (Diane) Nemec of Woodbury, MN; granddaughter, Krista (Ed) Schuebel; great grandsons, Troy and Kyle and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, Otto, she was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Charlotte Bruce, Margaret Nemec and Maxine Brader.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Burr Wesleyan Church, rural Hillsboro.  Friends called at the church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.  Burial was in the Czech’s National Cemetery near Yuba.  The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro assisted the family.
