He was born Sept. 13, 1942 to Knute and Bernice (Hanson) Johnson. He graduated from Soldiers Grove High School in 1960. On Sept. 28, 1964 he married Catherine Everson. They spent a few years living in Kenosha, where he worked for General Motors. He then moved back and made his home and raised his family in the Genoa area, where he had many jobs all revolving around doing mechanic work or driving truck. He was a member of DeSoto Lutheran Church. He spent many years enjoying the Great Mississippi, where he enjoyed boating, water-skiing, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards and hunting. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16 at the DeSoto Lutheran Church and Pastor Lori Kleppe officiated. Online condolences may be left at www.thorsonfuneralhome.com.
