Mae Ruth Thompson, 91, formerly of Muscoda and Richland Center, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born on Dec. 27, 1920, in Corwith, Iowa, the second of five children born to Clarence and Alma (Shultz) Oxley. On April 22, 1939, she married Oren C. Thompson in Waterloo, Iowa. She and Oren farmed the family farm in Iowa until moving to a farm outside Muscoda in 1960. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Pratt Memorial Chapel, 120 N. Park St., Richland Center, with Pastor Craig Peach officiating. Burial was in the Basswood Cemetery. Full obituary in the February 23, 2012 issue of the Republican Journal.
