Margaret M. Keeling, age 89 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 at Heritage Manor in Elroy, Wis.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1924 to Francis and Stella (Pollard) Cobb in Lansing, Michigan.  The family later moved to Jackson, Michigan where she graduated from high school.  Margaret then received her degree from Albion College as a teacher.

Margaret was united in marriage to Wilbur Keeling on Dec. 29, 1954 in Ovid, Michigan.  She was a school teacher in Hanover, Michigan and later in Prospect Heights, Illinois.  In addition to raising her family, she was a person with many talents and could make many crafts.  She enjoyed quilting, making braided rugs, baking bread, canning and gardening. 

Margaret and Bill came to the Hillsboro area in 1971 and retired here in 1987.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbur “Bill” Keeling of Hillsboro; three daughters, Sara (David) Baldwin of Hillsboro, Mary Van Peursem of Kasson, Minnesota and Jeannette (Jim) Haas of Hillsboro; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Mike and siblings, Lawrence, Janet and Richard.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Burial was in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro.  Friends called at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. For online information go to www.pichafuneralhomes.com
