Marian E. Pedersen, age 97 of Cuba City, formerly of Shullsburg, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. She was born Aug. 21, 1919 in Thompson Township in Jo Davies County, Ill., the daughter of Albert and Emma (Werner) Hammer. She lived in Scales Mound, Ill.  Prior to her marriage, Marian was a painter, paper hanger and an avid quilt maker since her teenage years.  Marian was married to Anton “Tony” Pedersen on Oct. 8, 1960 in Waukon, Iowa. She and her husband moved to Shullsburg where they owned and operated Shullsburg Creamery, retiring in 1973.
Marian is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Tony on July 19, 1986; one brother: Cletus Hammer; and one sister: Lucille (Mrs. Vince) Woellert.
Marian was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg and its Ada Circle of United Methodist Women. She was an avid member of Eastern Star Lodge #30 of Shullsburg. Marian will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church (226 W. Church Street, Shullsburg). Burial will be at Scales Mound Cemetery in Scales Mound Township, Jo Daviess County, Ill. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
