CASSVILLE—Melvin L. Houghton, age 89, of Cassville, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at UW Hospitals and Clinics in Madison surrounded by his loving family. 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 9, at noon at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville with Rev. Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Burial with military honors accorded by Mumm Welsch American Legion Post No. 352 and the VFW Post No. 7080 was in Cassville Cemetery, Cassville.  A Melvin L.
