Black Hawk senior Brody Milz will lead the third-ranked (Division 7) Warriors against fellow unbeaten and sixth-ranked (D6) Pecatonica/Argyle Friday night in a key Six Rivers Conference showdown.

GAME OF THE WEEK (Sept. 7–13)

PREP FOOTBALL: Black Hawk (3–0, 1–0 SRC, #3 Division 7) at Pecatonica/Argyle (3–0, 2–0 SRC, #6 Division 6), Friday, 7 p.m.

     The undefeated Warriors travel to undefeated Peactonica/Argyle Friday night in this week’s McDonald’s SWNews4U.com Game of the Week.

     Black Hawk, ranked third in Division 3, has steamrolled a trio of opponents to open the season, including a 68–6 non-conference victory at New Lisbon last Friday night. Two weeks ago, senior Brody Milz rushed for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns two weeks ago in a 30–12 Six Rivers Conference victory over Potosi/Cassville. Milz has rushed for a team-high 484 yards and four touchdowns on 53 carries in three games this year.

    Pecatonica/Argyle (3–0), ranked sixth in Division 6, opened the season with a 40–6 victory over Highland, then blanked Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 20–0 two weeks ago, before smashing Benton/Scales Mound 51–14 last Friday night under first-year coach Blake Bukoski. Senior running back Brett Ritschard leads the Vikings with 306 yards rushing and two TDs on 41 carries.

PREP CROSS COUNTRY: River Valley Invitational, (at Spring Green Municipal Golf Course), Saturday, Sept. 9, 8:30 a.m.

     River Valley will host the biggest area cross country meet this week. Forty-one teams will compete in the meet, including Belleville, Boscobel, Brookwood, Cassville, Darlington, DeForest, Dodgeville, Dubuque Senior, Fennimore, Gibraltar, Hillsboro, Holmen, Iowa–Grant, La Crosse Aquinas, Lancaster, Little Chute, Lodi, Madison Country Day, Madison La Follette, Mauston, McFarland, Monona Grove, Monroe, Mount Horeb, Necedah, New Glarus, North Crawford, Palmyra–Eagle, Pecatonica, Portage, Prairie du Chien, Reedsburg, Richland Center, River Ridge, Riverdale, Sauk Prairie, Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton, Viroqua, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin Heights and the host Blackhawks.

 

 

PREP VOLLEYBALL: Lancaster Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m. 

    The Flying Arrows will host Potosi, Black Hawk, Highland, Kickapoo and Viroqua in a six-team tournament Saturday.
