Boscobel finishes with 11 Division 3 Regional Champions

It was a successful night for the Boscobel Bulldogs track and field team as they hosted the Division 3 regional meet Tuesday. At the end of the competition, Boscobel earned 11 regional championships and qualified for sectionals in 19 events. Not only were the teams successful as individuals, but they also earned the Regional team title for the boys’ team out of a nine-team field with a total of 106 points overall, while the girls’ team placed second overall, winning the distinction of the Regional runner-up with a total of 113 points overall.

Regional Champions

The participants from Boscobel earning regional championships as individuals in their events were Jordan Molzof, Dakota Kauffman, Karissa Lange, Keely Foley, and Mackenzie Kauffman.

Molzof finished first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:04. Dakota Kauffman finished first in the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:48. Lange placed first in long jump with a distance of 15’7”, high jump with a jump of 5’, and in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 18.23 seconds. Foley was the regional champion in pole vault with a vault of 9’. Mackenzie Kauffman was the final individual regional champion for Boscobel in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:02.

In the relay events, Boscobel had four teams earn the regional championship title for Boscobel. The boys’ team finished first in the 4x200, 4x400 and the 4x800 meter relay. Members of the 4x200 and the 4x400 meter relay team were Seth Laxton, Chase Kull, Marcello Andrade, and Brandon Mindham. They finished the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:34 and the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 3:35. Members of the 4x800 meter relay team were Zach Mindham, Seth Laxton, Jordan Molzof, and Dakota Kauffman. They finished first in a time of 8:34 to earn the Regional Championship title.

The girls’ placed first in the 4x800 meter relay with Mackenzie Kauffman, Molly Pegram, Rachel Davis, and Keely Foley winning the Regional Championship title with a time of 10:33.

Sectional Qualifiers

Outside of the Regional Champions, Boscobel had seven individuals qualify for sectionals, including Dakota Kauffman, Wyatt Roth, Grace Roth, Carli Haines, Rachel Davis, Mackenzie Kauffman and Molly Pegram. Dakota Kauffman placed second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:42 earning him a regional runner-up title. Mackenzie Kauffman finished second in the 1600 meter run as well in a time of 5:47 also earning a regional runner-up title.

Wyatt Roth qualified for sectionals in both shot put, with a fourth place finish with a throw of 41’2”, and in discus with a third place finish, with a throw of 116’7”. Grace Roth qualified for sectionals in shot put with a fourth place finish and a throw of 29’1. 5”. Haines finished in fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 53.89 seconds. Davis qualified for sectionals in the 3200 meter run finishing in third place with a time of 12:55 and the 1600 meter run finishing in third place with a time of 6:01. Pegram was Boscobel’s final individual qualifier for sectionals in the 3200 meter run, finishing in fourth place with a time of 13:03.

Boscobel’s boys’ 4x100 meter relay team of Chase Kull, Brandon Mindham, Marcello Andrade, and Hunter Drake earned the Regional runner-up title with a time of 46.34 seconds. Boscobel’s girls’ 4x400 relay team of Sydney Haines, Micalea Boughton, Leah Bloedow, and Carli Haines qualified with a fourth place finish in a time of 4:46.

“Congratulations go out to the Boscobel track and field team for their performance last night at the Division 3 Boscobel Regional Meet, which met all expectations with hallmark wins in several events,” Coach Seth Bausman said.

These competitors will continue on to compete in the Division 3 Sectionals in Bangor on Friday, starting at 3:30 p.m.
