The ending was not what the Boscobel volleyball team had hoped for.
Going up against two strong teams, the Bulldogs finished their season winless in conference play, losing to Cuba City on Thursday in the SWAL finale and then dropping three games to Wisconsin Heights on Tuesday in the WIAA Division 3 regionals.
The Cubans, one of the powerhouses in the SWAL, dispatched Boscobel 3-0, winning 25-9, 25-7, 25-8.
"We came out a little flat, with the long trip," said coach Jeff Ostheimer, whose team finished 3-19 overall. "Same story, unforced mistakes."
Bri Wagner had four kills, while Kelsey Trumm came up with six digs and Allison Krogen had five assists.
Ostheimer called Wisconsin Heights "probably the best serving team I've seen in years," and the Vanguards won 25-5, 25-13, 25-13.
Beth Imhoff had two kills and an assist for Boscobel, while Krogen and Wagner each had an assist.
