MUSCODA - Amanda Meister rightfully "stole the show" as she achieved a career milestone of 1,000 (1,001) points with 3:50 left in the game against Southwestern on Friday, Jan. 29.
Meister hit a basket that literally made the REMS field house erupt. That shot put Meister at 1,001 points in her high school basketball career, a feat only accomplished by two other individuals in the history of girls basketball at Riverdale.
Meister was unaware of the accomplishment as the game was halted by Athletic Director Curt Thompson to congratulate her and thank her for being such a great asset to the Riverdale Community and Riverdale Sports. Meister was then presented with a special basketball by senior teammates Emily Drone and MacKenzie Herreid in recognition of her 1,000 point achievement.
