RICHLAND CENTER — Iowa–Grant gave Hillsboro a battle. After taking game one with relative ease, the fifth-ranked Tigers held off a furious second-set rally and overcame an I–G victory in the third to pull out a 25–12, 25–23, 19–25, 25–11 victory in Saturday’s WIAA Division 4 Richland Center Sectional final.

“Offensively they were hitting the outside on some shots and then ran a few nice quicks out of the middle to fuel their offense,” said I–G head coach Marl Simon. “However, we were able to rally back in that second set after going down  21–14, and got it to 23–23.  We had nine kills in that set led by Liv [Liddicoat], Sydney [Lundell] and Mya [McCarthy] and Hazel’s [Klosterman] setting.”
