Platteville/Lancaster senior Madison Albert-Nelson placed eighth in the 100-yard butterfly at the WIAA D2 State Championships last Friday night with a new school record time of 58.80.

MADISON — Platteville senior Madison Albert-Nelson closed out her prep swimming career in grand fashion at Friday’s WIAA Division 2 State Championships.

Albert-Nelson saved her best for last, swimming a lifetime-best 58.80 seconds to place eighth in the D2 100-yard butterfly Friday night at the UW–Natatorium in Madison. Albert-Nelson eclipsed her own school record of 59.07 set six days earlier at the WIAA D2 Baraboo Sectional.
