Koeller promoted to LTC

Craig Koeller, son of Fred and Virginia Koeller of Potosi, was promoted in July from Major to Lieutenant Colonel (LTC), in the Veterinary Corps of the United States Army. The ceremony was performed at the Tri-Service Research Laboratory on Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The ceremony was presided over by Naval Captain Elizabeth Montcalm-Smith, the Commanding Officer of Naval Research Unit - San Antonio.
LTC Koeller was a 1987 graduate of Potosi High School, 1991 graduate of Saint Norbert College, a 1995 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison of Veterinary Medicine and a 1998 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Environmental Toxicology Center.
LTC Koeller joined the Army in 1999, graduated from the US Army Laboratory Animal Residency Program in 2008 and became a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine in 2009.
LTC Koeller has served at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacomo, Wash., United States Army Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, Fort Detrick, Md., 711th Human Performance Wing, San Antonio, Texas, and is currently assigned to Naval Medical Research Unit-San Antonio.
LTC Koeller’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Army Commendation Medal (2 awards), Air Force Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (3 awards) and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
