Former state Rep. Steve Freese was named the chief administrative officer of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.

“Stephen’s strong background in public service, management of a non-profit organization and personnel make him uniquely qualified for this critical position with the Wisconsin Farm Bureau,” said Jim Holte, Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation President.

Freese previously was the executive director of Circus World Museum in Baraboo. He is replacing Roger Cliff, who is retiring after 40 years with the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.

Freese represented the 51st Assembly District from 1991 to 2006. He also was a Grant County supervisor and chair of the Town of Jamestown.
