Grant County authorities are looking for information into an assault at the Oak Park Trailer Park, 5215 Classic Lane, early Saturday morning.

According to the sheriff’s department, a 22-year-old Platteville woman was walking her dog around 12:15 a.m. when an “unknown subject” came from between two trailers and punched the woman in the face, then ran off.

The victim was not able to get a description of the assailant, according to the sheriff’s department. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.

This is the second assault at the trailer park in the past few weeks. A 49-year-old Platteville woman was struck Dec. 15 by a white man described as 6-foot-6 with “a bit of a pot belly” wearing dark clothing and a ski mask. The Sheriff’s Department reported there was no threat to the public from what it called an isolated incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s department, 723-2157, or Grant County Crime Stoppers, 1-800-789-6600.
