Beer is to drink, not to be a weapon

A 27-year-old Monroe man is being charged with battery after an incident at SchoolGirlz, 55 N. Second St., early Saturday morning.

Corey J. Binger was arrested after an incident in which a man hit another man with a beer bottle around 1:35 a.m., according to police.

•    A 20-year-old Platteville man was cited after he was seen carrying an open bottle of Coors Light beer Sunday around 12:40 a.m.

Brian D. Lurquin was cited with open intoxicants and underage alcohol violations. In addition to the Coors Light, Lurquin was carrying three bottles and two cans of beer, according to police.

•    Daniel W. Wohlbedacht, 21, Walworth, was cited for open intoxicants outside Camaraderie, 65 N. Second St., Saturday around 12:55 a.m.

About 10 minutes later, Travis Jeffery Stibbe, 22, Rib Lake, was cited for open intoxicants outside Orville T’s, 30 N. Second St.

•    Benjamin T. Packard, 20, Oregon, was cited for underage drinking and being underage on a licensed premise Sunday morning.

Packard was ticketed after he was found lying on the sidewalk at Furnace and Elm streets around 12:40 a.m.
